Joy Stuhr is a classically trained, multi-instrumental singer-songwriter with an imaginative sound. She performs and composes on piano, cello and guitar. Joy began composing at age 9, when her first song was published in a music magazine for children. She studied piano, cello and organ at Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon, where she graduated with a BA in Music.
Originally from Wisconsin, Joy lived abroad for four years in Latin America, traveling, and developing a music program for youth and adults in Panama City, PA. She then moved to NYC to get her Masters in education, while working in public schools in the Bronx. There she began performing with her trio, joined by Bugra Balci, award winning bassist, composer and producer, and Poyraz Aldemir, drummer of Glitch Cake and Durations. She now lives in Berlin, Germany working as a full-time musician, composing, performing and recording while teaching music with the International Music School - Berlin.
